How ClearLift Laser Resurfacing Works

The non-ablative, Q-switched ClearLift laser can be used to improve the appearance of several complexion concerns:

  • Skin laxity on the face and neck
  • Fine lines and wrinkles on the forehead
  • The delicate skin around the lower eyelids
  • Skin folds around the nose and mouth
  • Sun spots and age spots
  • Scars and striae
  • Overall tone and texture of the skin

During ClearLift treatment, laser energy is delivered to the deep layers of the skin and creates a controlled dermal wound. This triggers the body’s natural healing process and production of collagen. As the skin repairs itself, it develops a better-looking tone and texture.*

One of the advantages of this laser is that it can be used on all skin colors and types, including tanned skin. The ClearLift can be effective for people of all ethnic origins.

What to Expect from Your Non-Ablative Laser Resurfacing Treatment

ClearLift is performed at Aesthetic Dermatology’s Bala Cynwyd office; treatment typically takes less than an hour to complete (sometimes as little as 10 minutes). Because it is so fast, the ClearLift can be scheduled on a lunch break. Some have nicknamed ClearLift treatment “the lunchtime facelift” because it combines a fast treatment time with rapid results.*

Prior to treatment, your skin is cleansed and the eyes are covered to shield them from the laser’s beam. The ClearLift handpiece is then placed over the face or neck. It emits small, powerful pulses of light that penetrate the skin, breaking apart pigmentation and creating dermal wounds while leaving the superficial outer layer of skin unharmed. The handpiece is slowly moved over the entire treatment area and the process is repeated.

ClearLift is virtually painless — and gentle enough to be used on sensitive areas of the face and neck — so sedation medication is not needed. Typically, 3 to 5 treatments are recommended, but some patients see noticeable results after a single treatment.*

Recovering from Laser Skin Resurfacing

Since ClearLift treatment bypasses the surface of the skin and avoids wounding the superficial outer layers, there is no post-operative discomfort or recovery downtime needed. After treatment, you can apply makeup and return to work, socializing and your normal routine.*

Typical ClearLift Results

Following non-ablative fractional laser resurfacing with ClearLift, your skin should look tighter, smoother and more youthful, with results continuing to improve as the body’s collagen matrix remodels itself. Optimal results generally appear up to a month after treatment.*

Your ClearLift results should be long-lasting. To maintain the results of treatment, Dr. Klein and our team suggest committing to a regular routine with clinically proven skin care products, including a cleanser, an exfoliator, a moisturizer and sunscreen.*
